The Senior Risk Manager, Operational Risk Quantitative Analysis position resides within the Chase Card Services Operational Risk Oversight team in Wilmington, DE. This role is responsible for proactively identifying and quantifying operational risk and ensuring adequate controls are in place to protect against financial loss resulting from inadequate or failed internal processes, people, systems, or from external events. The primary responsibility of this role will be to leverage quantitative analytic techniques to measure and assess exposure to operational risk to drive changes with senior business owners to mitigate operational risk. Responsibilities Include:

- Leveraging statistical modeling on internal and external benchmark loss data to assess exposure to operational risk to ensure alignment with operational risk appetite
- Providing cost/benefit analysis on risk control optimization
- Analyzing operational loss data and KRI dashboard reporting to ensure mitigation efforts are having the desired impact
- Understanding and supporting corporate management of the operational risk capital model for Basel II
- Working with business and risk managers to conduct scenario analysis to evaluate and document forward-looking views of potential operational risk exposures, including potential severe ‘tail’ loss events for exceptional, but plausible events
Desired Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field: Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics
- 8+ years of financial industry experience
- 5+ years risk analytics or operations analytics experience
- Strong knowledge of risk management and internal control principles
- Ability to collaborate with business and functional experts to identify, understand, and provide quantitative assessments of key operational risks.
- Proven ability to build partnerships and work with key stakeholders in a matrixed cross functional organization
- Proven skills in managing multiple concurrent activities with shifting priorities and occasional tight deadlines
- Strong technical programming skills (SAS/SQL preferred)
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in a quantitative field: Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics
- 5+ years in an operational risk management or similar discipline of risk identification and management
- 5+ years experience with operational risk modeling
- Deep knowledge of the credit card business and its operational processes
- Solid knowledge of Basel II economic capital regulations
